Nonverbal communication is usually understood as the process of communication through sending and receiving wordless (mostly visual) messages. Messages can be communicated through gestures and touch (Haptic communication), by body language or posture, by facial expression and eye contact. Although most people will use posture, eye contact, even breathing very voluntarily to pass a message, the vast majority of nonverbal communication is unconsciously performed and often fully out of our control.
